Galactic
botany
Developed in partnership with ToastVR, Galactic Botany is a VR game for the HTC Vive. Players take on the role of an intergalactic botanist, and are tasked with growing playful, otherwordly plants. They must save the world of Domala by growing and sending these plants to the planet's surface in order to restore it back to a habitable state.

DETAILS
Galactic Botany is a VR game created by a team of 5 that has been designed with Toast VR's brief in mind: An easy to pick up and play VR experience with customisable elements.
This game aims to achieve this brief by immersing the player in the midst of outer space, with the primary goal of playing and experimenting with otherworldly plant puzzles to regenerate the ecosystems of Domala. The player can customise and interact with the environment around them as they collect trinkets from Domala, and are able learn about Domala's progress through a cast of characters via in-game emails.
As a designer for Galactic Botany, I helped produce and refine mechanical concepts for the core gameplay loop as well as the puzzle plants. Additionally, I was involved in the initial level design, wrote and collated game design related documentation, as well as the creation of and upkeep of QA methodologies and procedures. I also was involved in the creation and implementation of various VFX, UI, and animations used within the game.
This game was produced for Toast VR as an industry project, and is not able to be distributed as a result. If you wish to know more about the game or would like a demonstration, feel free to contact me and I'll be in touch.
